چکیده
Abstract Crab shell waste can cause pollution to the surrounding environment, but has potential be used as a biosorbent in absorption of heavy metals, especially Pb because crab shells contain CaCO3 and chitin. Methods: Several variables that play role biosorption process, among others: initial metal concentration, mass, contact time. was determined by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) method. Results: The results showed contained 0.019 mg/g. concentration correction factor. Optimal result for parameter is 100 mg/L with efficiency percentage (99.11 ± 0.02)% adsorption capacity (620.15 0.3) ug/g. optimal time 120 minutes (91.22 0.13)%. yield mass based on (98.01 0.2)% 2 grams. Conclusion: This study show an effective adsorption. optimization best factors process were mg/L, 3 grams 110 minutes. optimum conditions successfully applied seawater from former bauxite mine.

Use of bauxite from active Iranian mines for the removal of fluoride from drinking water
Background: Fluoride plays an important role in bone and dentin mineralization; however, excess fluoride intake is harmful to mankind. Methods: This study evaluated the performance of bauxite from active Iranian mines in removing fluoride from drinking water. The effects of pH, contact time, adsorbent dose, and fluoride concentration on defluoridation and removal efficiency were determined. Ki...
متن کاملAdsorption of Zn (II) from aqueous solution by using chitin extraction from crustaceous shell
Removal of toxic heavy metals from wastewater is an important environmental challenge. In this Study, Zn (II) removal from aqueous solution by chitin extraction from crustaceous shells (shrimp and crab) was investigated. The biosorption studies were determined as a function of contact time, pH, initial metal concentration, and the amount of adsorbent. Adsorption of Zn (II) increased with decrea...
متن کاملRemoval of Pb (II) from Aqueous Solutions Using Waste Tea Leaves
Background: The presence of lead in natural waters has become an important issue around the world. Lead has been identified as a highly toxic metal that can cause severe environmental and public health problems and its decontamination is of utmost importance. The aim of this work was to evaluate the adsorption of lead (Pb(II)) on waste tea leaves as a cheap purification method. Methods: In thi...
متن کاملRemoval of Pb (II) From Wastewater Using Henna; Optimization of Operational Conditions
At this work, removal of Pb (II) using Lawsonia inermis (Henna) was studied. In recent years, use of low price adsorbent is taken into consideration. Adsorption experiments were performed in batch system at ambient temperature (25℃). The influence of some parameters such as time, initial metal concentration, pH and adsorbent dose were investigated. The optimum conditions was obtained at pH of 6...
متن کاملAdsorption of Pb(II) from Solution using Peanut Shell as Biosorbent in the Presence of Amino Acid and Sodium Chloride
Currently, marine protein byproducts are mainly hydrolyzed and prepared for applications that depend on their physiological activity. Such uses require strict removal of heavy metal ions from the material. In this work, a green approach was proposed using peanut shells as adsorbent to remove Pb(II) from solutions containing amino acid and sodium chloride. The effects of amino acids and sodium c...
